Moris ha participado en las Bienales de São Paulo y de La Habana, y en exposiciones colectivas en la Fundación JUMEX en Ciudad de México, en la Fundación Fontanal Cisneros en Miami, ARTIUM en Vitoria, MUSAC en León y en el Museum of Contemporary Art de San Diego. Y ha realizado exposiciones individuales en el Museum of Contemporary Art de Los Ángeles, en el Museo Carrillo Gil y en la Sala Siqueiros, ambos en Ciudad de México, y en la Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken, entre otros.
NF/NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ presents Allá afuera hay una bala para todos, Moris’ second solo exhibition at the gallery. This show is part of Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend. For further information on its general program, click here.
Moris participated in the São Paulo and Havana Biennials, as well as in group shows at the JUMEX Foundation in Mexico City, Fontanals Cisneros Foundation in Miami, ARTIUM in Vitoria, MUSAC in León and the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. Also, he has had solo shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Museo Carrillo Gil and Sala Siqueiros, both in Mexico City, and the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken, among others.

Nos reunimos para celebrar el verano, cerrar esta temporada y brindar una vez más por ‘mapa-suelo-paisaje’, exposición con Irene Grau, Clara Montoya y Daniela Libertad en NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ.
Os esperamos en la galería el sábado 20 de julio de 2019, a partir de las 12.00 hrs.
La galería permanecerá cerrada durante el mes de agosto hasta la inauguración en septiembre con Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend.

‘¿En función de qué otorgamos valor a ciertos materiales? ¿Qué permanencia tiene la valía y cuál es su relación con la historia? Fritzia Irízar investiga sobre lo efímero del valor de materiales, como el oro, los diamantes y las perlas, desde su correlato con los procesos de trabajo, explotación y consumo.
El material precioso sirve de hilo conductor para reunir una serie de obras en las que la artista aborda críticamente lo preciado. Irízar evidencia con su trabajo la resistencia física y conceptual del material al diluirlo, desgastarlo, deshacerlo, disolverlo o injertarlo y da forma así a nuevas corporalidades.’
‘According to what do we place value on certain materials? What is the permanence of value and what is its relation to history? Fritzia Irízar investigates the ephemeral value of materials, such as gold, diamonds and pearls, from their correlation with the processes of work, exploitation and consumption.
The precious material serves as the guiding thread for a series of works in which the artist critically deals with the precious. Irízar shows with her work the physical and conceptual resistance of the material by diluting it, wearing it down, undoing it, dissolving it or grafting it and thus giving shape to new corporalities.’

Esta será la exposición individual más grande de Chiharu Shiota. El título ‘The Soul Trembles’ hace referencia a la ferviente esperanza de la artista en ofrecer a los demás experiencias de temblor de alma derivadas de emociones sin nombre. Si bien las instalaciones dinámicas e inmersivas de Shiota, que consisten de hilos que se extienden a través de espacios expositivos completos , son particularmente conocidas, esta será la primera oportunidad de experimentar en detalle veinticinco años de la obra de Shiota. La muestra contará principalmente con seis grandes instalaciones, además de obras escultóricas, secuencias de video de performances, fotografías, dibujos, material relacionado con las artes escénicas, etc. A través de esta exposición que resume la ‘presencia en ausencia’ que Shiota ha explorado a lo largo de su carrera, los visitantes sin duda obtendrán un sentido por sí mismos del significado de la vida y el viaje de la vida, y el funcionamiento interno del alma.
This will be the largest-ever solo exhibition by Shiota Chiharu. The subtitle “The Soul Trembles” references the artist’s earnest hope to deliver to others soul-trembling experiences derived from nameless emotions. While Shiota’s dynamic and immersive installations consisting of threads strung across entire gallery spaces are particularly well-known, this will be the first opportunity to experience in detail twenty-five years of Shiota’s oeuvre; primarily in six large installations, plus sculptural works, video footage of performances, photographs, drawings, performing arts-related material, etc. Through this exhibition epitomizing the “presence in absence” that Shiota has explored throughout her career, visitors will doubtless gain a sense for themselves of the meaning of living and journey of life, and the inner workings of the soul.
