Nieves Fernández opened Yerba in 1977. Originally located in Murcia, the gallery begun its path as a center for cultural and political debate exhibition the main actors of the contemporary art scene, both national and international, realizing a publishing work, collaborating with institutions as the Banco Exterior de España or curating the Telefónica Collection. In 1988, the gallery moved to Madrid where it continued its path under the name of NF/ Nieves Fernández.

In a global world, where galleries do not represent a region anymore, but a way of looking at the world, NF/Nieves Fernández, directed by Idoia and Nerea Fernández, develops a work that rethinks itself within the narrative of the contemporary arts debate, generating new spaces of understanding.

Interested in reality and not only in the formal aspects of that reality, artists make proposals that, through aesthetic reformulation, break down strong judgements and, acting as social consciousness, challenge human imagination.

More than a space for contemplation, the gallery should be a place opened to criticism and debate, where artists’ creativity is a priority that produces activities, which encourage dialogue.
