JOSE LUIS LANDET. REFACCIÓN

12.11.2026 - 19.12.2026

José Luis Landet’s work operates at the intersection of memory, archive and pictorial reconstruction. Through a process of collecting, dismantling and reassembling found images and materials, the artist explores the tensions between official history and personal experience, painting and document, tradition and appropriation.

His work begins with research into anonymous archives, photographs, documents and salvaged paintings, which he intervenes and re-signifies in fragmented compositions. In this exercise of visual archaeology, Landet dismantles the notions of authorship and historical linearity to propose an aesthetic of discontinuity, in which memory is rebuilt from its own fissures.

Through painting, collage and installation, his practice becomes a process of translating and reinterpreting the past. Rather than restoring, Landet breaks down and reconfigures, generating new narratives that challenge the stability of historical accounts and expand the limits of pictorial language.
