Chiharu Shiota en PLANTA de Fundació Sorigué, Lleida

Chiharu Shiota y Fundació Sorigué presentan, a partir del 03 de junio, el pabellón de la artista en PLANTA. La instalación permanente de Shiota ha sido creada específicamente para PLANTA, inspirada en el entorno industrial de la gravera de Sorigué y utiliza por primera vez la piedra, protagonista del paisaje de PLANTA, como elemento fundamental en su obra.

En la visita de Shiota a PLANTA, el sonido de las piedras cayendo en las montañas de grava inspiraron en la artista la noción de principio: el material es el elemento básico, en bruto, con el que se creará algo después. El uso de la piedra es pues una alusión poética al concepto de origen.

Por un lado, al origen del universo: La densa trama formada por hilos y piedras es una evocación del cosmos, a través de la cual la artista nos hace tomar conciencia de nuestra fragilidad. Por otro lado, la artista alude al origen del propio grupo empresarial Sorigué, vinculado al movimiento de tierras y en cuyo espacio originario se inspira y se presenta la obra.

Esta instalación culmina un proyecto iniciado en 2015 con la exposición temporal en la Fundació Sorigué bajo el mismo título “In the beginning was…”, y que ha evolucionado hasta la presentación de su instalación permanente, que supone además la primera de estas características en Europa.

Chiharu Shiota and Fundación Sorigué present, starting on June 3, the artist’s pavilion at PLANTA. Shiota’s permanent installation has been created specifically for PLANTA, inspired by the industrial environment of Sorigué’s gravel pit and for the first time she uses the stone, a protagonist of PLANTA’s landscape, as a fundamental element in her work.

During Shiota’s visit to PLANTA, the sound of stones falling on the gravel mountains inspired the artist’s notion of principle: the material is the basic, raw element, with which something will be created later. The use of stone is thus a poetic allusion to the concept of origin.

On the one hand, at the origin of the universe: The dense weave formed by threads and stones is an evocation of the cosmos, through which the artist makes us aware of our fragility. On the other hand, the artist alludes to the origin of the Sorigué business group itself, linked to the earthworks and in whose original space the work is inspired and presented.

This installation culminates a project started in 2015 with the temporary exhibition at the Sorigué Foundation under the same title ‘In the beginning was …’, and which has evolved until the presentation of its permanent installation, which is also the first of its kind in Europe.

Danica Phelps en NO PLACE (Madrid, Bogotá, Ciudad de México, Stuttgart)

No Place tiene el placer de anunciar la edición 2021.

Centrada en los dibujos de Danica Phelps de dos proyectos diferentes, pero intrínsecamente conectados: Protection Project y Flow Out, Flow In, la exposición mostrará los últimos trabajos de la artista y permanecerá abierta desde el 28 de abril al 1 de mayo, en las cuatro galerias simultáneamente en España, Colombia, Alemania y México.

Flow Out, Flow In mostrará por primera vez los ingresos y pagos de Protection Project, el proyecto realizado por Danica durante el confinamiento de los meses de Marzo y Abril.

Paralelamente, se celebrará una subasta online de estos dibujos, durante los 4 días de exposición, que te permitirá pujar por ellos, participando así del proyecto.

No Place is pleased to announce the 2021 edition.

Centered on Danica Phelps‘ drawings of two different, but intrinsically connected projects: Protection Project and Flow Out, Flow In, the exhibition will showcase the artist’s latest work and will remain open from April 28 to May 1, at our four galleries simultaneously in Spain, Colombia, Germany and Mexico.

Flow Out, Flow In will display for the first time the incomes and outcomes from Protection Project, the project carried out by Danica throughout the lockdown during March and April.

At the same time, an online auction of these drawings will be held, through the 4 days of the exhibition, which will allow you to bid on them, thus participating in the project.

Fritzia Irizar en #novoysola

Fritzia Irizar participa en #novoysola, un proyecto colaborativo entre mujeres profesionistas del arte que se organiza a través de una acción colectiva para reivindicar y visibilizar el 8 de marzo y la lucha de derechos civiles de las mujeres en México, cuando el contexto pandémico actual no permite la congregación de las voces de miles de mujeres que se reunieron para manifestarse en 2020.

La artista propone una acción sonora orquestada, entitulada ‘Grito’, y cuyas instrucciones se pueden leer en la imagen.

Fritzia Irizar participates in #novoysola, a collaborative project between professional art women that is organized through collective action to vindicate and make visible March 8 and the civil rights struggle of women in Mexico, when the current pandemic context does not allows the congregation of the voices of thousands of women who gathered to demonstrate in 2020.
The artist proposes an orchestrated sound action, entitled ‘Grito’, and whose instructions can be read in the image.

CAMPING presenta ‘ANATOMÍA Y ESTRATEGIA’, de Natalia Fernandes

“Anatomía y Estrategia” es una instalación coreográfica de Natalia Fernandes, donde el cuerpo de la bailarina se transforma en una escultura viva que, mientras se mueve, cuestiona los límites del cuerpo como obra de arte. La pieza busca una mirada atenta y vehemente al cuerpo que habita el espacio entre la racionalidad y la naturaleza en esta constante negociación entre conceptos que se pelean y se complementan en cada ser humano.

Para esta acción no se realizan reservas, la entrada será según aforo a lo largo de las 3 horas de presentación ininterrumpida.

NATALIA FERNANDES es una coreógrafa y performer de São Paulo, vive y trabaja en Madrid desde 2017. Licenciada en danza por la Universidad Estatal de Campinas (UNICAMP), en Brasil, Natalia también complementó su formación con distintos cursos y talleres en Brasil, EEUU y Alemania. Desde 2013 imparte clases de “Anatomía Inventada: danza contemporánea”, en distintas ciudades de Europa, África y América. Es profesora invitada en el Conservatorio Profesional Ana Laguna de Burgos. En 2016, inició un proyecto de clases sobre conciencia corporal y danza contemporánea para mujeres refugiadas junto al CEAR (Comisión Española de Acogida de Refugiados), en Madrid.

El proyecto “Anatomía y Estrategia” fue el ganador del premio “Me,Myself & I”, del 29º Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid. Ha recibido el apoyo del equipo Paso a 2 (España), Musiberia (Portugal), Espaço das Gaivotas (Portugal), Compañía Nacional de Danza (España), Centro de Danza Canal (España), del Museo del Traje/UCM/España y fue una instalación coreográfica invitada para el cierre del festival Ellas Crean, en Madrid, 2019.

‘Anatomía y Estrategia’ es la tercera acción de CAMPING, una iniciativa que abre el espacio de la galería NF/ NIEVES FERNANDEZ a diversos actores culturales, con el fin de que puedan desarrollar y exhibir sus proyectos y creaciones libremente. Tomando como soporte de sus acciones el espacio expositivo, los diversos actores desplegarán sus proyectos temporales interactuando con la exposición instalada en ese momento en la galería.

CAMPING es un proyecto de Nerea e Idoia Fernández directoras de NF/NIEVES FERNANDEZ y de Blanca Cortés, abogada especializada en propiedad intelectual.

‘Anatomía y Estrategia’ is a choreographic installation by Natalia Fernandes, where the dancer’s body is transformed into a living sculpture that, while moving, questions the limits of the body as an artwork. The piece seeks an attentive and vehement gaze at the body that inhabits the space between rationality and nature, in this constant negotiation of concepts that fight and complement each other within each human being.

No reservations are made for this action; entrance will be organized according to the space’s capacity throughout the 3 hours of uninterrupted presentation.

NATALIA FERNANDES is a choreographer and performer from São Paulo, living and working in Madrid since 2017. With a degree in dance from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), in Brazil, Natalia also complemented her training with different courses and workshops in Brazil, the USA and Germany. Since 2013 she has been teaching classes on ‘Invented Anatomy: contemporary dance’ in different cities in Europe, Africa and America. She is a visiting professor at the Ana Laguna Conservatory, in Burgos. In 2016, she started a project of classes on body awareness and contemporary dance for refugee women together with the CEAR (Spanish Commission for the Reception of Refugees), in Madrid.

‘Anatomía y Estrategia’ project was the winner of the ‘Me, Myself & I’ award at the 29th Madrid Choreography Contest. It has received the support of the Paso a 2 team (Spain), Musiberia (Portugal), Espaço das Gaivotas (Portugal), Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spain), Centro de Danza Canal (Spain), Museo del Traje/UCM (Spain) and it was a guest choreographic installation for the closure of Ellas Crean Festival, in Madrid, 2019.

‘Anatomía y Estrategia’ is CAMPING‘s third action, an initiative that will open NF/ NIEVES FERNANDEZ’ gallery space to various cultural actors, so that they can freely develop and exhibit their projects and creations. Taking the exhibition space as a support for their actions, the various actors will display their temporary projects interacting with the exhibition installed at that time in the gallery.

CAMPING is a project conceived by Nerea and Idoia Fernández, directors of NF/ NIEVES FERNANDEZ and Blanca Cortés, lawyer specialized in intellectual property.
