Tamara Arroyo participa en los encuentros de Ciudad Sur, dentro de las actividades públicas del Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo (CA2M) en Móstoles, Madrid.

El ciclo de debates tendrá su primera sesión el 20/05 y busca pensar las dinámicas e histórias de Móstoles y demás ciudades de la zona metropolitana sur de Madrid.

The debates have their first session on May 20 and seek to rethink the dynamics and histories of Móstoles and other cities in the southern metropolitan area of Madrid.

ARCO E-XHIBITIONS: ‘Desde Casa: Salón’

NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ participa del proyecto ARCO E-XHIBITIONS con ‘Desde Casa’, una exposición virtual que se organiza en cuatro etapas (Cocina, Salón, Baño y Dormitorio) y propone, de manera distendida, presentar los trabajos de los artistas representados por la galería en diálogo con el espacio doméstico.

Incidiendo en la perspectiva de que el público pueda acceder a las exposiciones desde la intimidad y comodidad de sus hogares, las obras seleccionadas se vinculan, conceptual o formalmente, a diferentes estancias de una casa. La perspectiva es, por tanto, explorar los límites de la fruición del arte desde lo virtual con el acercamiento a la realidad latente del público interesado. En este sentido, cada etapa de la propuesta presentará obras que, de alguna manera, también exponen la intimidad de los artistas y de su práctica.

Sin pretender establecer un hilo formal o conceptual relacionado con el debate artístico, “Desde Casa” pretende construir una relación más íntima y próxima con el espectador, a pesar de la falta del espacio físico para el disfrute de la obra.

NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ participates in the project ARCO E-XHIBITIONS with ‘From Home’, a virtual exhibition organized in four stages (Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom and Bedroom) and proposes, in a relaxed way, to present the works of artists represented by the gallery in dialogue with the domestic space.

Considering the perspective that the public can access the exhibitions from the privacy and comfort of their homes, the selected works are linked, conceptually or formally, to the different rooms of a house. The idea is, therefore, to explore the limits of the virtual fruition of art from an outreach to the latent reality of the interested public. In this sense, each stage of the proposal will present works that, in some way, also expose the intimacy of the artists and their practices.

Without trying to establish a formal or conceptual thread related to the artistic debate, “From Home” aims to build a more intimate and close relationship with the viewer, despite the lack of physical space for the enjoyment of the work.

FRITZIA IRÍZAR. CHICXULUB, ESTUDIOS EN UN PAISAJE.

INAUGURACIÓN 29 JUN 2021

NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ presenta la exposición “Chicxulub, estudios en un paisaje”, de Fritzia Irízar. La artista investiga el cráter de Chicxulub en Yucatán, para establecer un vínculo entre el impacto de un meteorito hace 66 millones de año con la pandemia del SARS Cov 2.

Analizando la historia y la desaparición de las especies más débiles, Fritzia Irízar reflexiona acerca del uso del poder y las circunstancias específicas en las que este dictamina sobre el entorno natural colectivo en base al beneficio económico generando situaciones en las que la ética y el respeto por la vida en comunidad pierden todo su valor.

Fritzia Irizar ha expuesto en diversas instituciones internacionales como MUAC, Museo Ex Te­resa Arte Actual, Sala Siqueiros y Museo Rufino Tamayo en Ciudad de México, Orange County Museum of Art en Santa Ana, CA2M (Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo) en Madrid, Headlands Center for the Arts en San Francisco, CIFO Fundación Fontanals Cisneros en Miami, Giorgio Cini Foundation en Venecia, Seattle Art Museum en Sea­ttle, Fundación Banco Santander en Madrid, Beirut Museum of Art (BeMA) en Beirut y la Rashid Karami International Fair en Trípoli. También ha participado en diferentes bienales: la 9ª y la 10ª Bienales de Mercosur en Porto Alegre, la 12ª Bienal FEMSA en Monterrey y la 14ª Bienal de Cuenca.

Su trabajo se encuentra en colecciones como JUMEX, México; Colección Isabel y Agustín Coppel, México; Servais Collection, Bégica; Colección Olor Visual, España; Braddock Collection, EEUU; Proyecto Bachué, Colombia; CIFO Collection, EEUU; Fon­dazione Benetton, Italia; y CA2M, España.

NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ presents the exhibition “Chicxulub, studies in a landscape”, by Fritzia Irízar. The artist investigates the Chicxulub crater in Yucatán, to establish a link between the impact of a meteorite 66 million years ago with the SARS Cov 2 pandemic.

Analyzing history and disappearance of the weakest species, Fritzia Irízar reflects on the use of power and the specific circumstances in which it dictates on the collective natural environment based on economic benefit, generating situations in which ethics and respect for community life loses all its value.

Fritzia Irizar has exhibited in several international institutions such as the MUAC, Museo Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Sala Siqueiros and Museo Rufino Tamayo in Mexico City, the Orange County Museum of Art in Santa Ana, CA2M (Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo) in Madrid, Headlands Center for the Arts in San Francisco, CIFO Fundación Fontanals Cisneros in Miami, Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice, Seattle Art Museum in Seattle, Fundación Banco Santander in Madrid, Beirut Museum of Art (BeMA) in Beirut and the Rashid Karami International Fair in Tripoli.
